🌟 RIS Student Spotlight 🌟
5th grade student, Dylan S., has officially written and published his very first book!
Dylan began writing this book in February. Once completed, he decided he wanted to have it published. With the help of his mom, they set out to discover the process of having his work published.
This month, Dylan's new book "Powers", made its debut on Amazon.
RIS is so very proud of Dylan's hard work and this huge accomplishment!
Great job, Dylan!
"Powers" is available in Paperback and in Kindle format on Amazon at: https://a.co/d/iaEXsSQ.

Please don't be "jelly" but Rusk Intermediate School has a true ROCK STAR for a librarian! Mrs. Oliver is the definition of a "relationship-builder". She knows every student on our campus and has unique, individual relationships with each of them.
She keeps our whole campus Vibin' and Thrivin'!
We are so very blessed to call her ours! Mrs. Oliver, we love you with all of our hearts!
Happy National School Librarian Day!

Rusk ISD parents/guardians please check your email. A survey has been sent out to provide feedback for our 2023-2024 school year calendar.
During our February School Board Meeting I requested the District investigate the possibility of adopting a 4 day school week instructional calendar for the 2023-2024 academic year. We are examining a number of different districts currently using the 4 day calendar and trying to gather as much relevant information as possible regarding the decision. We understand it is difficult to provide an absolute answer without addressing some of the challenges associated with this calendar and be assured the District is not using the survey results to determine if we move forward. This initial survey is to determine what interest our stakeholders have in the possibility of a 4 day week. Once we have more strategies in place we will provide other opportunities to share your thoughts. When you have the chance please respond to the survey. We sent this same survey to our staff and will be allowing secondary students to participate in the very near future.
Thank You,
Grey Burton, Superintendent

Parents, we apologize for any inconvenience but the transportation department is short bus drivers. Bus 19 will start dropping off students about 45 minutes later than usual this afternoon Feb 9th. All other bus routes will run as scheduled. Also, as of now, all buses should run at their regular times tomorrow morning.

Texas parents, High School STAAR scores are currently in the family portal and 3-8 STAAR results are tentatively scheduled to be available in the family portal by Friday, July 1, 2022. We encourage you to Log In and Learn More about your child’s STAAR results. Visit TexasAssessment.gov to access test results and resources, including each STAAR question and answer, along with your child’s answers.
