Rusk ISD parents/guardians please check your email. A survey has been sent out to provide feedback for our 2023-2024 school year calendar. During our February School Board Meeting I requested the District investigate the possibility of adopting a 4 day school week instructional calendar for the 2023-2024 academic year. We are examining a number of different districts currently using the 4 day calendar and trying to gather as much relevant information as possible regarding the decision. We understand it is difficult to provide an absolute answer without addressing some of the challenges associated with this calendar and be assured the District is not using the survey results to determine if we move forward. This initial survey is to determine what interest our stakeholders have in the possibility of a 4 day week. Once we have more strategies in place we will provide other opportunities to share your thoughts. When you have the chance please respond to the survey. We sent this same survey to our staff and will be allowing secondary students to participate in the very near future. Thank You, Grey Burton, Superintendent
