Attendance Reminders:
Any absence requires documentation within three days of returning to school. ** In order for a student's absence to be documented and marked excused/unexcused, the school must receive this note. If a paper copy of the note is sent with a student, we advise parents to please check with the attendance clerk by email or phone to verify that the note reached its destination. Rusk Elementary School will accept a digital absence note by email, lori.bayless@ruskisd.net, or a note by fax 903-683-6104.
**Perfect Attendance:**Requires a student to be present the full day, 7:55 am – 4:00 pm, with no absences (excused or unexcused), late arrivals, or leave early.

As football season is upon us, we would like to remind students and parents about the expectations for students who attend football games. Students attending football games are expected to sit in the bleachers. Administrators ask that students please not play near the concession stand. If caught loitering in these areas, students will be asked to sit with their parents or responsible adults, or if no guardian is present, you could possibly be removed from the event. We appreciate your help with the implementation of these expectations to ensure student safety while giving our fans the opportunity to enjoy the game.

Don’t forget to wear your colored bracelets on Monday that you received during our House Reveal! By showing off your house colors, you'll earn one house point for your team. While your house assignment was recorded by homeroom teachers during the Reveal, wearing your bracelet makes it easy for everyone to spot your house spirit and for us to award points school-wide. Let’s show our colors and start the week strong! 🎉
